Try It - You'll Like It

Sleigh Horses There are many ways to have fun in Red River. Here's a list of some things to do that you may not have thought of before. Enjoy yourself.

If you see a horse drawn carriage or sleigh, bundle up and take a long scenic ride.

When was the last time you made a snow angel? Find some snow and make one.

Build a large, oversized snowman/woman and elect it President. Remember, such a creature will probably melt before a recount can be finished.

Take a walk by the river and enjoy the ice sculpture that winter creates along the banks.

Turn off the TV. Then, sit in front of a blazing fire in the fireplace and read a book.

Find a nice gentle slope. Wear a Hefty Bag and slide down the hill on you stomach.

Go fishing. The nearby Rio Grande offers great trout fishing and Eagle Nest Lake, when it's frozen, allows Ice Fishing for Grumpy Old Men and normal folks of all ages.

Build a snow fort and instigate a woolly booger snowball fight. No slushballs, please.

If you have a kitchen unit, don't use it. Eat out instead at one of Red River's great restaurants, thus avoiding making a big mess and avoiding the sound of a noisy dishwasher.

Get a copy of the Red River Miner and try to complete the crossword puzzle.

Make your own fun. It's easier than you think and fun is contagious.
