Carl Brown came to Red River in 1982 for the purpose of managing a photo concession at the Red River Ski Area. He eventually bought the business in 1985 and changed the name to Southern Exposure Photography because “he always liked the name” and wanted to use the Zia to represent his business.
During winter months he and a devoted crew of photographers will be at the chalet of the Red River Ski & Summer Area documenting the fun for families and winter visitors as they have done for 35 years. They also have an office at 316 E Main which they will vacate by February because Carl is currently renovating the former Timbers Restaurant building at 401 E. Main, which will in the near future, serve as Southern Exposure’s home and photo gallery.
