Doug’s Corner is owned by David Irvin who hails from Whitesboro TX. It’s a brand new business on the corner of Main Street and Copper King Trail. There will be thirty Low Speed Vehicles (LSV) available for daily rental throughout the Red River summer season.
These electric carts are manufactured by Evolution Electric Vehicles, Ontario, CA, and are street legal, with headlights, taillights and turn signals, side view mirrors, horn, seat belts, FM, Bluetooth, backup cameras, speedometers and “an odometer on the dash so you can see how far you went.”
Power for these sleek vehicles comes from lithium ion batteries.
David first came to Red River in the mid 1970s when “my mama and daddy used to bring us kids here to snow ski. I remember that on that bunny slope you had to grab that rope.” He adds, “I don’t think OSHA would approve that now.”
David explains that he and wife, Jennifer, have been coming to Red River for the past 14 years.
Doug’s Corner is named for Douglas Irvin, David’s dad who founded the golf cart and electric vehicle business in Whitesboro. The business is family-owned and has served the Texas-Oklahoma market for 20 years.
