The biggest news is that The Grill at the Lift House opened late last December, just in time for Christmas visitors to experience a new chapter in social entertainment at RRSA!
The project took over a year, with the major remodeling of the bar and restaurant facility – inside and out – including a new outdoor deck which doubled the seating capacity. It still offers a fabulous view of The Face, the Platinum Chairlift Ride and the river, providing a wonderful place under the open sky to relax and enjoy a cool Red River day. The facility will be open throughout the summer and will feature great food and beverages for all ages.
The Red River Ski & Summer Area will again present their popular Music On Top concert series at The Tip Restaurant on Saturdays, featuring the finest in local and regional entertainers. It’s on the deck and performances are free.
A new law which allows the RRSA to serve alcohol anywhere within the boundaries of their property is set to take effect July 1, 2016. In addition to the Lift House, The Tip Restaurant and the Ski Chalet/Day Lodge, adult beverages may be served, for instance, at wedding sites, family reunions and company retreats on the mountain.
RRSA President and GM Denny Judycki says the law allows ski areas the same opportunities as golf courses. “Rather than a specific license for each site or a picnic license, we can better serve our guests’ requirements. We don’t know what the language of the actual law will be, but obviously there is a stewardship on our part.”
