It’s six days filled with fun, food and frivolity and some of the hottest music your will ever hear!
February 12-17 is the date of the 24th Mardi Gras in the Mountains which will feature Cajun and Zydeco music direct from the heart of Acadiana, plus rowdy Blues, Country, Folk, Rock & Roll, maybe some Jazz. You just never know what you might hear until you get here for Mardi Gras.
Returning to Mountain Mardi Gras this year will be Cajun sensations Forest Huval & Bon Temps – that’s pronounced “Bon Ton” as in “Rouler.”
Considered one of the finest exponents of both the authentic traditional sounds of Acadiana and the 21st century influence on the same music, Forest was a bandmate and, by some accounts, a protegé of the late Cajun fiddle genius Al Berard.
In his early twenties, Forest has been exposed to the Louisiana music scene since he was a teen and his playing reflects the styles of countless legends of Cajun music whose notes still echo across the bayou country.
And he makes it look so easy.
Forest and Bon Temps will be in town for the six-day run of the Mardi Gras, so be sure and see them.
