The year 2019 will find Fritz Davis (seen here performing at the new Red River Brewing Company) marking 30 years of playing for Red River audiences.
“I moved to the mountains in 1989 to work in places like The Bull, The ‘Lode and Chubbies Tavern. I’ve played every venue in town, including a few that no longer exist – in some cases, for two, three and four different owners.
“I was the first entertainer (with Pete Wooten) to play at the Conference Center when it opened and the last to play at the old Brass Rail. I’ve lost count of the number of weddings, wakes, benefits and concerts at the Community House. I love that place!
“I’m always grateful and honored when someone in a restaurant, at the store or on the street says ‘I first saw you at Chubbies in 1991’ or ‘We saw you at the Mine Shaft Theatre’ or ‘We heard you at Mountain Treasures when it was located down the street!’ In some small way maybe, I’ve been a tiny part of their lives! That feels good!”
