There’s a new candy store in town.
Brooke and Gary Allen are part owners of Red River Candy Company with Brooke’s parents, Sharon and Robert. Brooke’s parents started the business and asked Gary and her to help out. The Candy Company offers candy from around the world.
The Allens are from a town called Joshua but prior to that, a town called Godley.
Brooke has always come to Red River for vacation, and they decided to move here full time when the opportunity arose to be partners with her parents. Her family has been in the candy business for quite some time. Brooke’s great Uncle was an owner of a candy store and her grandpa worked there as well. It is safe to assume it is in the blood and runs in the family.
They stated the hardest part of small town living is the lack of amenities which I am sure we can all agree, but find it worth being in our small town and having to drive a while to get our goods.
There are so many types of candies, soda’s, candy by the pound and a delectable selection of fudge. This is a unique type of store with the decor and it definitely has a feel good vibe!
All the local kids can’t wait to go and get their favorite candy or the Bubble tea. They even have quite an array of cotton candy. One type is dill pickle, which my daughter brought home and insisted I try. It was quite an experience!
Brooke’s parents also opened up a septic tank business and when asked why, Gary said his father in-law was sitting around with a group of buddies when the idea came to them. He already had a septic business in TX and saw a need for one in Red River.
We hope business and small town life treat you well!
While in Red River, you guys have to stop in and try something new. I recommend the Dill
Pickle Cotton Candy!
