Liz and Tim Tate are the new owner/operators of the Red River RV Park. The facility is located between Highway 38 and the Red River bridge on High Cost Trail on the town’s west end.
The Tates have been in charge of the motorized campground since September 1. Tim describes the park as containing 28 RV parking spots and three yurts. The yurts are used for nightly rental and are not portable dwellings.
The park offers full hook-ups: water, sewer, electric, satellite TV. They also have indoor bathroom and shower facilities, as well as laundry opportunities. The facilities, including laundry, are open to the general public as well.
“Quite a few locals come here to use the laundry,” Tim says. The Tates emphasize that the park has been open year-round for several years and they want it known that they will continue with the year-round policy. They intend to be open 365 days a year according to Liz.
Tim says that the biggest challenge is to plow the snow, allowing for easy access to parking spaces. During winter, the water hook-up is not available to avoid the freezing of lines. He does add that he has the capability to fill RV water tanks with a 500-foot hose. Visitors can maintain sewer connections in winter.
Tim confesses that he liked the RV park when he moved to town because “It’s a nice little park, and it just made sense.”
