Red River’s reputation as a stronghold of live music is solid for Winter 2018-19, and the town will be alive with melodies and rhythms shaking the walls and rattling glasses. Regular live music venues in Red River are the Bull O’ The Woods, Lost Love Saloon, The Motherlode and Red River Brewing Company.
Established in 2012 as a way to warm up a snowy winter’s day, the Red River Songwriters’ Festival is back for the 8th time and is set for January 24-26.
Founding members Drew Kennedy, Josh Grider, Walt Wilkins, Susan Gibson and Kelley Mickwee (seen at right) will be on the bill, as will Jack Ingram, Jon Randall, Jaimee Harris and Mike Addington. There will be solo shows, duo shows, and collaborations between artists with a grande finale by the founding members. There will also be late night informal jams, early afternoon ski runs, and who knows what else. Count on three days of music, love, friendship, food, drink, and the celebration of life in music and song.
