Red River has become well-known for its special events calendar and Summer/Fall of 2018 will see a full schedule of entertainment. From Bacon & Brews in May, the Classic Car Show in early June and the Art & Wine Festival on Fathers’ Day, the 4th of July in the Park festivities which follow the BIG 4th of July Parade, to September’s Aspencade with the Red River Folk Festival and Oktoberfest’s oompah band, great live music and entertainment will be part of the fun.
Larry Joe Taylor’s Hot Chili Days/Cool Mountain Nights Music Festival and Cook-Off returns to Red River for the 23rd year. Set for August 15-18, an array of celebrated songwriters and performers will set the valley abuzz with great music. The CASI “Red River Red” Chili Cook-off and the NM State Green Chile Championship will be contested, as will the Lone Star Barbecue Society Cook-off, to delight the palate of festival goers while they listen.
