Warm & Fuzzy New Event

Dogs and wine

Calling all dog and wine lovers… Have we got a fun time planned for you!  Red River Wags & Wine” is back and is slated for September 14, 2019 in Brandenburg Park.  The second-time event is a fundraiser for the “Mountain Bark Park,” a fenced-in park where locals and guests can bring their dogs to exercise and play safely, leash free.  The first event raised enough money for the fencing which will be going in this summer at the east end of town adjacent to the Library. With over a dozen pet friendly lodges to accommodate them, many of our visitors are coming to town with their beloved pets.

Brandenburg Park’s gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, and close at 5 p.m. There will be training and handling demos, an agility course, groomers, and a K-9 Demo.  There will be all sorts of dog products and an animal psychic will be on board as well. For the two-legged visitors there will be food vendors, wineries and breweries.  Adding to the daylong fun will be the local “Hwy 38 Houndogs” performing their tunes.

Don’t have a dog? No problem… Lovers of the grape can enjoy all the activities as they sip a little vino presented by regional vintners –  don’t forget to bring your photo ID!  Foods that pair well with the varied wines will also be available.
